The QLD Emergency Ostomate Support Service (QEOSS) provides emergency after hours product support* to QLD Ostomates outside the normal business hours of their association. The service can be contacted between 8am and 7pm on 0432 522 311 and can arrange for a small quantity of emergency appliances to be made available (either to be collected from a Brisbane location or posted via Express Post satchel) to ostomates located in QLD. The emergency product supply provided will be a generic supply of a similar type of product that is usually used (eg: 1 piece closed product, 2 piece drainable convexity product etc), and will be sufficient to provide cover for a stoma until the ostomate can contact their association or medical professional (Stoma Nurse or GP) to arrange for products to be issued through the Stoma Appliance Scheme or purchased. Emergency products sent by Express Post satchel will be delivered within Australia Post delivery timeframes.
To obtain emergency after hours product support, please contact the QLD Emergency Ostomate Support Service on 0432 522 311 and leave a message, stating clearly your name, contact number, usual stoma association and the product type that you require (eg: 1 piece closed product, 2 piece drainable convexity product etc). A member of the QEOSS team will return your call as soon as possible, within 4 hours.
Emergency supplies provided through the QEOSS are not intended to provide a supplementary supply to Stoma Appliance Scheme allowances. Repeat requests to QEOSS for emergency product support may therefore incur a fee.
